Community of Homeless

Sham Shui Po is the poorest district in Hong Kong. The homeless people and scavengers are banished from outside.
They formed a “village” and occupied the public space and the pathways nearby in the boundary of Sham Shui Po, an overpass bottom.
It raised the antipathy and inconvenience to nearby communities, visible and invisible boundaries are built in between,
voluntary agencies, priests tried to help but could not. Therefore a possibility could be suggested, an uplifting the living space of those scavengers to release the public space underneath. Encouraging communal activities initiated by organizer and scavengers to stimulate interactions between scavengers and nearby. Thus, boundaries eliminated, public space regained.
